The cellular metabolism is divided in 2 different groups:
-Anabolism: The anabolism is the group of chemical reactions where occurs the synthesis of complex organic molecules from simple molecules, with energy consuption from ATP molecules
-Catabolism: The catabolism is the group of degradation reactions of organic molecules, for the production of energy in the form of ATP, giving simpler molecules, poor in energy.
The energy from ATP is used by the cells of our organism in many cellular activities, such as chemical synthesis processes, muscular contractions or the production of heat. During the cellular metabolis there are produced residues, that are not necessary, and some of them are harmful to our organism. That's the reason why they have to be expelled from our body.
